OK saoliders listen up, The return of Bad Comapany has been widely anticipated as a major turning point in their lives by a few of us (OK, maybe just me! ) So I will now rustle up an early review based on my play last night (day earlier than release, thankyou Game Play :) )

Bad company are a group of rejects and misfits from various squads in the US military, All of them have major character or social flaws, You will grow to love them :D

FIRST THINGS FIRST:
Having played Bad Company 1, I would say, If you are an expierienced FPS player, PLAY IT ON ITS HARDEST SETTING............. or you are not fit to be called a man (Special dispensation given to Pupster here  )

Otherwise the aim assist will do all the hard work for you.

The graphics appear to be improved, the main characters are really well animated.

The collision detection is better than the latest CoD installment, But the graphics overall aren't quite up there with CoD4 yet.

The building destruction is a nice touch, If you can't see an enemy, blow the wall down, then shoot him in the face!
But beware! they are going to do the same to you!

The variety of weapons that can be picked up is wide, part of the aim is to collect them all, you can then use any weapons you have found at various storage boxes on the map.

I have only banged in a few hours last night, so I will follow up with more findings, as and when I am allowed on my xbox

So far, it rocks :D

Multiplayer review to follow tomorrow.

ONE MAJOR FLAW: YOU CAN'T LIE DOWN! not good for snipers!!!!

Always lying down on the job eh bish?

They took prone out of Bad Company 1, my guess it was to stop "wormin" which happened a lot in Battlefield: Modern Combat (or warfare) people used to quickly go prone to standing up and back again, you just zoomed around on your belly, like a worm from tremors LOL, so I guess, no prone, no worming :?

Works a treat on MW2 though!!

My trouble with BF is that it takes for ever to get to the action, only to die in the first few seconds!

run run run run die. spawn run run run die. spewan run run run stop..... run run run die.

spawn. die . run.

I dont have the patience or the blood pressure, although i did like the intro music on the last one :D

Get in tank, then you drive, crash and get nuked by a sniper guided bomb....

ahaa, but they have made guided bombs difficult, you now have to manually guide them, and its hard to hit a tank that jinks around, and you get a warning, Also you can unlock sensors to detect when a pesky guy is trying to sneak up with C4 :D Hence my 31 kills streak and 73 total kills in a tank :D

They used to be computer guided.... and NEVER missed, now you have to steer them using the thumbsticks, and they feel heavy and slow to change course, so to hit a fast moving Bradley (Not the dead eastenders one) you have to anticipate his direction and speed etc, T90's are a bit easier to nail :D

Extra Review:

OK after banging in a solid 7 hours straight on single player and mp yesterday.

Major flaw no 1: Knife collision detection is awfull!!! truly terrible, god knows how I have managed to collect dog tags :?

The maps vary from Harbour areas (As in the demo) to wide open sandy wastelands, thick jungle, Russian towns.

They have definate strengths aimed towards either vehicles or infantry, SOme maps (not sure of its name yet) are sooo vehicle heavy, you wonder why people are bothering going anywhere on foot, They were just giving me easy kills. On the open maps, If you get a good chopper pilot up in the air, he can single handidly win a game! They are VERY very powerfull! (unless he flies too low and gets a depleted uranium Abrams shell up his ass  )

Some maps have so much foliage cover it really is a case of "dodge the sniper"

They have included private match ability, where you can set exactly goes on what team, This is to keep the clans happy I guess, As not many people will get 24 mates to buy this game :?

The online graphics are an slight improvement over Bad Company 1 but still the tree's are a bit pixelated up close, But hey, if they are pissing you off, just blow the crap outof them, they only ruin your line of sight :)
The destruction of levels is really well executed, You can now drop an entire building down on your enemies, Killing them all

More to follow... Becca needs something :)

Thats the beauty of BF2 and the squad system. work as a team and spawn on your team-mates when ya die. saves alot of running.
(also, if one of your squad is a medic, like i usually am, he can get get his paddles out and revive you....CLEAR....K-Bzzzzz!!)

:-)
